NaNo has hit my shit list. They tell me that I have until 2359 Paciffic time to finish my novel all month long. Oddly the only way to validate my novel is via a txt file that has to be uploaded is through thier site. When lo an behold at 1910 Eastern time their little verification tool is gone. That means at 1610 Paciffic time they yoinked any way of updating your word count. I'm 5,000 from being done! WTF NaNo?
I dropped them an email about it. *snort* I doubt that I'll get a response until tomorrow which they'll be like "sorry." I'm just upset. If you advertise that you can finish or verify your novel at 2359 then leave the verification tool or word count thing up til then. Don't yoink it from the page just cause your leaving the bloody office.
This sucks. Really. I may finish my novel anyway. Now I have no hope of getting a winner's banner cause I have no way of finishing officially. Bastards! *Shakes fist at NaNo*
I was going to donate to their cause when I finished. I'm thinking that I may donate at a lower level than I had planned on previously. just cause of this. Srsly.

I'm still 15,000 from being done. I'm trying to tie this up but I don't think I'm going to make it. I'm gonna try to get as close as I can. Okay, back to the salt mines...*sigh*

NaNoWriMo's official site must be bogged down. I've spent about five to ten minuets in the last two hours trying to get the page to load. At frist I thought it was my modem. Not as such and then I realized that its Thanksgiving and that might be why the site's bogged down.
I've been trying to just update my word count. I can't even get the page to load. My browsers Safari & Firefox timing out. I'm not quite sure what to do.
I'm getting the sinking feeling that this will be lasting the whole weekend. If that's the case then don't expect my little widget on my user info page to move at all this weekend. I'm going to try updating when I'm at work.
This is all after this week that I've barely touched writing cause I'm sick.

You'd better believe it! I've done jack nothing today. I've been out running errands...sad that, but I'm planning on staying at home tomorrow. I'm not even looking at where I should be on my word count. I'm 4,000 words head of the curve right now, or I should say yesterday. Anyway, I'm gonna watch Ghost Hunters as they will be in Ireland tonight for the first time. Yayz.
In all honesty I'm really worried that its all crappy writing. I'm dead serious. I'm afraid I'm not putting enough description in. I'm afraid it sucks...big time. *sigh*

I went to a Stargate con this past weekend and I didn't write one word. I'm bad, however I'm not too far behind. I'm only three thousand words behind. Yay me. I'll update my word count today I swear. I was wondering if you guy wanted me to post any of what I've written so far. I'm thinking feedback would be good. Who knows, it might help boost my word count. I'm off.

Well the good news is that I've added some graphics to the user info page. Technically only one, but there is a link to my photobucket account so that you can see the Mahavidyas and the Srividyas they are the hero's of the story. That's pretty much it. So I'm off.

Some of you don't know who I am I'm
ancient_immie and you can find out more about my personal life there. This LJ is specifically for the NaNo Posts as not to spam my FListers. Like I said if you like to know more about me then I suggest that you go over there and check things out.
[a word of caution]
Well I'm signed up at NaNoWriMo. Yay for me! I've wanted to do this for ages. Now I am. I'm looking forward to this. My novel will involve vampires, blood and violence [standard vampire fair]. If that's not your cup of tea I suggest that you look elsewhere. I'm very colorful with my language and have been known to drop the F-bomb. So this isn't for the kidders or the easily offended.
[influences]
Some of my influences as far as vampires go have been many over the years.
Joss Whedon is the biggest, and yes I'm a Buffy/Angel fan.
Laurell K Hamilton is a recent influence in causing me to thing about later expanding my universe.
Nancy A. Collins is a great Gothic horror writer, her Sonja Blue Collection is great. I recommend her writing if you like Laurell's. She's another big influence.
Kindred the Embraced/Vampire the Masquerade is very responsible for the government-like organization of the vampires in my world. The show only was a season, but it came out a few years before Buffy.
The Blade Trilogy is a definite influence on my world. I really like the idea of a vampire that can walk during the day. It takes the whole world in a new area. Also I like the dealing out of justice by a fellow vampire. The sword idea is partially from here.
Anne Rice, I would be semi-remiss if I didn't mention the grand dame of the vampire culture. I'm not much of a fan of hers of late, but she did further my horizons.
Forever Knight I think that it wasn't so much the struggle of Nick trying to become (more) human that got me. It was the family-like relationship between Nick, LaCroix, Jannette and Vaschon.
Highlander I can't ignore this show not having so bearing on my fondness of Swords and Immortals. Like Blade dealing out justice with a sword appeals.
